The California Academy of Sciences has published 20 different themed programs for science minded children ages 4-11. The Science @ Home programs have hands-on craft activities, educational experiments and guided videos. Each program has 3-5 segments referred to as "days", with each segment typically containing 40-90 minutes of activities. Subjects for learning include:
This program provides 5 days of activities and videos, each about 60-90 minutes. Backyard naturalists ages 4-8 will learn about the world that is right outside their door. Coral Reefs (Ages 4-8) and (Ages 8-11)
Both Coral Reef programs offer 4 days of activities and videos, each about 45 minutes. This is an opportunity for your children ages 4-11 to learn about the world that is the Coral Reef, and why coral is so important. Activities include coloring a coral-ful community, Ocean Habitat Matchup, Make-Believe Mask, Sculpt a Coral Reef and Diver in a Bottle. This program provides 4 days of activities and videos, each about 45 minutes. Rainforest explorers ages 4-8 will learn about the Tropical Rainforest which are home to more living things than anyplace on Earth, yet they take up about 6% of the Earth's surface. Activities include rainforest layers and animals, Clothespin Sloth, Rain Stick and Handprint Macaws.
