It seems like the kids just went back to school and now they have a long weekend as we honor Martin Luther King. I did a little research about activities and one of my favorites is one that takes place the third Monday each January and it has the motto a “day on, not a day off.”
The American Cross, Barnstable County, AmeriCorps, and Massachusetts Service Alliance have collaborated to provide us with the MLK Day of Service to empower individuals and improve our community. There are opportunities for all ages to attend free workshops, a kids’ corner for storytelling and coloring, cleaning up our beaches, and so much more. This year’s even is on January 20, 2025 from 9AM – 2PM at 204 Cultural Arts Municipal Building, Harwich, MA.
If you are unable to attend the event in Harwich, please consider spending 10 minutes cleaning up an area near your home or a local beach. Another idea is to pick 3 things in your home or closet which you can donate to help another family.
