St. Patrick’s Day Lephrechaun “bait”

Try out these fun cookies with your littles at home! It is a sugar cookie base with chocolate chips, green food dye, and green sprinkles all mixed it. We are calling them “leprechaun bait”.

1 cup butter softened

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. Almond extract ( or vanilla, whatever you like)

1/2 tsp Baking powder

1 tsp. Baking soda

2 3/4 flour

Chocolate chips

20 drops of green food dye

Green sprinkles

Start by preheating your oven to 375 degrees

Cream the softened butter and sugar

Add in the egg, and extract of your choice

Mix in the baking soda and baking powder

Add in the flour

It will look too dry, but stick with it, it will come together

With a spoon mix in the chocolate chips and sprinkles last

On an ungreased cookie sheet measure out the dough. We used a 1” scoop and fit 24 cookies on a jelly roll sheet pan. 

If you are making them tiny, like we did, bake for 8 minutes. Larger cookies will take longer.
