Why I like it: Its fun to see the kids socialize, I get to talk to other moms, and my kids have to listen to someone other than me!

Hours: vary by rink, Barnstable Recreation offers public skating almost everyday
Why my kids like it: Ok, I have to admit that I’m not much of a skater and am waiting til my kids are a little older for lessons til we take advantage of public skate times, but any kid who likes skating would think public skate is a good time.
Why I like it: I’m all about getting kids out of the house and moving. Getting all the physical activity your kids need in the winter can be tricky, public skate is a great way to get them tired out!

Hours: Sunday 11am-5pm Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm
Why my kids like it: My kids love painting. It’s also fun to use the items they make.
Why I like it: I love opportunities that let my kids show their creative side, and the pieces we get to keep and use are fun too.
