Cape Cod's Very Own Olympian

A hometown athlete competing in the 2018 Winter Olypmics

By Melissa Gray-Scoskie, Publisher Mom for Cape Cod and the Islands February 23, 2018

The 2018 Winter Olympics are in full swing and my daughter and I are having a great time watching all the events, her favorites are skating and ski jumping. Out of the 240 athletes the USA is sending, 12 are from Massachusetts and will be taking part in ice hockey, bobsled, skiing, and snowboarding.Ā But did you know there's a Cape Codder amongst them?Ā

Representing Cape Cod (okay really the USA) as a member of the Snowboarding team is Mike Trapp. BornĀ in Hyannis, he attended BarnstableĀ High school and now callsĀ Marston Mills home with wife Kelly. This will be Trapp's first Olympics. He will be competing in the parallel slalom and the giant parallel slalom. Events which he finished 20th and 16th in at the 2017 World Championship.

We can all cheer him on Saturday, February 24th. Good luck Mike, all of us back home on Cape Cod are rooting for you! Go TeamĀ USA!
